Many birds, bees, bats, bugs and squirrels rely on tree hollows.  These are predominantly found in old trees, whether living or not. They act as a resource or habitat for the various animals that play a vital role in the woodland habitat we are trying to conserve and recreate.

Unfortunately most of our woodland trees are too young to have hollows and this situation will not change for many years to come. 

Our older woodland trees are already home to a wide range of wildlife and there are many different ways in which we are improving the habitat. One of these is by providing habitat boxes. The boxes available will differ depending on the area in which they are to be placed.  Please select the type of box provided and give us the name of the sponsor when placing your order, and the woodland team will be able to allocate an appropriate box. 

Some examples of the wildlife boxes we offer are for squirrels, birds, bats, hedgehogs, butterflies, bees and ladybirds. 

You can help, by sponsoring our habitat box programme. We will provide you with the location of "your" box so that you can view it when you visit. 

Our boxes are made locally by Scottish craftsmen from untreated wood. They will last for at least 10 years and probably a lot longer. 

We are asking for your help to achieve the above. 

For a donation you can sponsor a habitat box at suitable sites of our choice. In return for your donation, once "your" box has been installed, you’ll receive an email including:  

- a photograph of your habitat box in situ and it’s unique identification number

- map co-ordinates showing its location in case you’d like to go and have a look

Meet and Greet

When you visit your Glencoe Wood plot, you will see the wonderful progress that your support has made possible. You will enjoy meeting our volunteers (and other landowners!) and if you book in advance you can take a ride in our 4×4 ATV. Whatever else you do, don’t forget your camera!

Please make sure to book the Meet and Greet service prior to your arrival for an experience you are never going to forget. Tours can become fully booked months in advance, particularly in the summer period. If you are unable to take your tour we will refund your purchase.

Highland Titles 5 Year Plan

For those of you interested in the conservation progress on the Highland Titles Nature Reserve, this is the perfect report for you to get your hands on.

This is our second five-year plan - updated in 2015. This second five-year plan runs from 2014 to 2018. The plan allows us to update our stakeholders with what we have achieved and benchmark against what we have proposed to achieve in our five-year plan.

Traditional Kilt

The Highland Titles Kilt is hand-tailored for us by Chisholms, the traditional choice of Highlanders. Generations of the Chisholm family have created a reputation which makes them the 'Savile Row' of kilts. 

Our kilts are made with a traditional heavy weight (500-515gm/16oz) worsted wool synonymous with the 8 yard hand made kilt. This tartan cloth is woven exclusively for us by Lochcarron of Scotland and kilts made in this material, reserved for Lairds of Glencoe and Lochaber, are only available from us. 

We ask that you provide us with three measurements, plus your height and weight which we will pass on to Chisholms, who will make your kilt and ship it to you free.  Please use a tape measure and this diagram to take these measurements now before you place your order.
